KUALA LUMPUR - Asif International (M) Sdn Bhd will hold an international conference on halal cosmetics and toiletries on March 13 and 14, 2010.

The inaugural conference will address issues pertaining to halal cosmetics and toiletries, the company said in a statement today.

"Since Muslims are the fastest growing consumer segment in the world, halal cosmetics and toiletries are ready venture into halal business," said Asif chief executive officer Abdul Kabur Ibrahim.

"The halal business is an emerging sector that has enormous market potential as Muslims form 1.8 billion of the world's population," he said.

"This event is a sound investment, considering the priceless future returns by being part of a pioneer group that charts the course of the global halal cosmetics and toiletries industry over the next decade," he added.

More than 300 participants and 20 international speakers are expected to participate in the event.
